COST PRODUCTION OF ONE LITRE OF MILK IN FARMS IN OSTROŁĘKA POVIAT

Abstract

The article presents selected results regarding production costs of milk on farms located in the Ostrołęka poviat. The research was carried out in 150 intentionally selected milk products. The selection of units for research was deliberate. The research shows that the main factor determining the profitability of milk production is the price that farmers receive. The price exceeded the cost of producing one liter of milk, which meant that milk production in the researched farms was profitable. It terms of milk production costs, farmers have limited possibilities of their reduction. The only possibility is to increase the usage of won fodders and the decrease usage of fodders from purchase.
